Falling Fences
Falling Fences is a creative collaboration between songwriter Joe Stickley & band leader Sean Canan. The band, which also includes bassist John Hussung of the Mighty Pines, keyboardist Andrew Weir and drummer Joe Winze, formed in 2008 when the 2 songsters began an ongoing Sunday night residency at John D. McGurk's in St. Louis. Performing music that combines the pop sensibilities of Tom Petty, the bombastic improvisation of the Grateful Dead and the lyrical nuance of Bob Dylan, Falling Fences has been engaging audiences all over the region for over 15 years. The band's latest album "The Wild Sea" is available on all streaming platforms and even gets a melodic boost from area favorites the Funky Butt Brass Band. Recorded at Sawhorse Studios, "The Wild Sea" features 10 new original songs written by Stickley, Canan and gang. All 3 of the full length albums are available to stream on all platforms in addition to the Songwriter's Hell Live EP and the popular Pandemic era single, "Take it With Love."
